MAVIS is Calling!

MAVIS members stay in touch with each other via weekly conference calls. We discuss everything from personal stories to national political issues, and the telephone chats are undoubtedly the most popular activity in MAVIS!

We currently meet on Tuesday evenings, from 8:00 PM to whenever.

We use high-quality toll-free teleconferencing provided by A+ Conferencing and thanks to funding by St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Arlington, Massachusetts (thanks, Alison!).

All MAVIS members are welcome to our business meetings, which are held during the first hour or two of the first Tuesday call of each month. Sometimes this is preceded by a special presentation (the topic is announced on the MAVIS Email List; if you would like to subscribe to our email list, please use the link on the MAVIS home page).

If you're interested in participating in the conference calls, just contact us! Once you become a member of MAVIS, you will be eligible to participate in the calls with us. We look forward to meeting you!

Our calls are welcoming for everyone. We do not tolerate any racist, sexist, ableist, homophobic, or overly rude conduct on the calls.

Special Presentations

Jon Simeone presented a JAWS refresher course February 1, 2005. He answered questions and showed us how to make JAWS do all kinds of useful tricks.
